Dagnachew Legesse lives with his parents in Bole Arabsa, Addis Ababa. He is paralyzed from the waist down and is now bedridden due to a car accident that happened 4 years ago. He had gone to several hospitals seeking treatment but no solutions were found then. Since this was a long time ago, Emmanuel Ability Center decided to take Dagnachew to Yerer Hospital. Unfortunately, recovery was still not possible in his case.

One request he made during our visit was to get him a bed. Since he is constantly laying on them, his beds and mattresses wear out quickly and it becomes uncomfortable to be on, even causing his back to hurt. And buying new ones is a heavy cost for his family. For these reasons, a sustainable and sturdy bed and mattress tailored to fit his needs would have a significant impact. There would be no risk of worsening the damage to his back and his family would be relieved of the financial burden of having to repeatedly buy new beds.

Dagnachew also takes blood-thinning medication. He needs to take this to ensure that his blood doesn’t clot from lack of movement. However, this medicine is expensive and has to be taken regularly. It is yet another financial strain on his family so Dagnachew would be greatly helped if he had a sponsor who would provide the funds for these expenses.

Emmanuel Ability Center needs your help to meet these needs for Dagnachew and others as well. Please consider donating or becoming a member to help us advance our work.
