After months of learning, practicing, caring for each other, and growing in confidence, the day finally arrived — graduation day at EAC’s vocational and childcare center. It was more than a ceremony. It felt like a community rising together.

The center was filled with joy, pride, and the kind of energy that only comes when everyone has poured their heart into a shared purpose. Beneficiaries, staff, supporters, visitors — everyone played a part in making the day meaningful.

One of the most touching moments came when the young son of one beneficiary stepped forward to recite a poem, honoring his mother and the journey she has taken. His words carried hope, gratitude, and the quiet power of a child who has watched his mother transform.

Then, two mothers took the stage. They shared how EAC had changed their lives — not only by teaching them skills, but by restoring their confidence, dignity, and belief in a brighter future. Their stories reminded everyone why this work matters.

Graduation gifts were then presented — practical tools that will allow each woman to continue her craft and begin earning income immediately.
These included:

  • Sewing machines

  • Bread-making machine

  • Injera mitad

  • Laundry machine

  • Scales

  • Spice grinder

  • Overlock machine

  • And other essential equipment suited to their new skills

The ceremony closed with a beautiful moment of connection as government officials, embassy representatives, donors, and supporters toured the center, greeting the children, pausing to admire the training rooms, and encouraging the mothers as they step into a new chapter.

It was a day that showed the fruit of everyone’s contribution — a clear picture of what happens when people believe in possibilities and work together to create change.

Follow us as these remarkable mothers begin their next chapter — turning skills into livelihoods and hope into lasting impact.
